APPLICATION OF IOT - AGRICULTURE
Since sensors were introduced in agricultural operations. But from that sensors we were not able to get live data from the sensors. By the introduction of IOT in agriculture , far advanced sensors are being utilised. The sensors are now connected to the cloud through cellular/satellite network , from that we get the real time data and to take decisions effectively.
It keeps various factors like humidity , temperature, soil etc., under check and gives a crystal clear real time observations. Hence, it is an application of implementing connected devices and innovative technologies together into agriculture.
IOT in agriculture has come up as a second green revolution. It has helped the farmers in two ways by decrease their costs and increase their yields.
CLIMATE CONDITIONS:
The climate plays a critical role in farming. We are unable to predict the condition of climate accurately. But by the application of IOT , we are able to know the real time weather conditions, by the use of many sensors that detect the weather conditions. The sensors monitor the condition of crops and the weather conditions surrounding them. If any disturbing weather conditions are found, then an alert is send to the farmer.
SMART GREENHOUSE:
IOT has enabled weather stations to automatically adjust the climate conditions according to a particular set of instructions to make our own greenhouse smart. For example: Using solar - powered IOT sensors builds modern and inexpensive greenhouses.
AGRICULTURAL DRONES:
The introduction of agricultural drones in the agricultural operations is the trending disruption. The ground and the aerial drones are used to asses the crop health, planting, crop monitoring, crop spraying and field analysis. Drones with thermal or multispectral sensors indicate their vegetation index.
