                          Home automation by using IOT is a system that uses mobile devices or computers to control basic home activities and features automatically through internet  from anywhere around the world. An automated home is sometimes called as smart home. It means that, to save the electric power and human energy.

                       For example:fan, lights,outdoor lights, fire alarm, Kitchen timer etc., can be controlled using various control techniques.

                        Home automation may include centralized control of lighting,HVAC (heating,ventilation,and air conditioning),appliances, security locks of gates and doors and other systems, to provide improved convenience energy efficiency and security.

                         The essential components and materials for home automation using IOT project can be listed as a Wifi module, opto-coupler,TRIAC,resistors, capacitors, diode,regulator,loads(home appliances).

                         Sensors like motion sensors, temperature sensors, light intensity sensors, smoke detectors, humidity sensors etc.,are being accomodated with home automation and the data from these sensors would further be used to analysed to understand the use patterns  and in turn with deep learning used for the intelligence of the devices itself.

 Smart lighting ideas:

• On pressing one button all the lights turn on for a given room
• On double tap the same button to turn off all the lights in the room
• Landscape lighting can turn on automatically at sunset and off again at sunrise 

Smart security ideas:

• Automate your bedroom touch screen to see who is at the door when the bell rings from your front door or gate intercom
• Receive a text message when your security cameras detect motion
• Set a timer that closes the garage door automatically if it is left open for longer than 10 minutes. A motion sensor is used to keep the door open when you are working in the garage.

Everyday alerts and notifications:

• Receive a text alert when a garage door is left open.
• Receive an automatic text alert for a problematic event, such as pipe leak in the basement.
• Get a text message or push notification when the kids get home from school.
• Receive a text notification when its time to take medication.
